As FFA members, part of membership is to be involved in a project to learn career skills, get experience for the future, and to hopefully earn some money. The areas of SAE: -Production-including animals, crops, or the raising of other commodities. -Entrepreneurship-including the student forming their own business, such as landscaping, custom harvesting, custom animal sales, etc. -Placement-involving any member working for someone else, this is the most common SAE, where students have money making jobs.
-STATE FFA DEGREE
The Nebraska State FFA Degree requires that the member has at least 2 years of complete records, an SAE that has earned at least $3000 and much involvement from the student in chapter activities. All record keeping is done the electronic record book on www.theaet.com Each member should have a file for each year that they have their SAE, the record book information should begin on January 1 and end at December 31 each year. Major information needed includes: -Beginning inventory of both personal and SAE assets -FFA activities attended -Record of hours worked or invested -All animal or crop records -Personal and SAE income and expense

Requirements for Howard County Fair -Sign up for both fairs, and SAE visits is to be done by all members by the end of school in Mr. Hadenfeldt’s room -Official Centura FFA Show Shirt worn each show, each day -Market Beef weighed in the first Saturday of February with official FFA ear tag -All other beef tagged with official FFA tag by fair date -All FFA members WILL do showmanship -Sheep, swine, and goats, of which each member can show 2, tagged by fair date -All stalls and equipment cared for throughout fair -Every showman will be present for pre fair clean up, and have stalls cleaned before premiums are paid.
Requirements for State Fair -Same as above for market beef -Check the annual handbook for livestock numbers -All other animals tagged by June 15th with affidavits being signed -For swine, PQA number must be complete -All entries in by the August date -Understand that all market winners at the state fair are terminal for testing
